Prestige Metal Products, Inc. is a renowned firm that supplies industrial metal components and assemblies to leading technology companies across the nation. Presently, we are offering a full-time position for a Cincinnati CNC Brake Press set-up operator at our Bristol WI facility.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operate machinery for press brake operations. • Align and position various types of brake tooling accurately. • Configure brake press machines based on blueprints and digital records. • Comprehend and execute work orders effectively. • Analyze drawings and develop forming sequences using multiple tooling sets with the aim of reducing part handling time. • Display precision and diligence in all assigned tasks, meeting deadlines and notifying relevant personnel if timelines are unfeasible, along with proposing alternative plans. • Utilize bend allowance or set-back methodologies to determine bend lines and remaining stock. • Shape both simple and intricate parts within specified tolerances, including both short and long production runs. • Utilize precision measuring instruments and gauges to ensure the accuracy of work with close tolerances. Make regular adjustments to machines and measuring instruments to maintain high-quality output. • Thoroughly inspect work, conducting initial piece and mid-run inspections to uphold quality standards throughout the production process. • Collaborate with management and the engineering/programming department on specialized or prototype projects, as well as tool testing. • Resolve issues and irregularities promptly. • Set up and execute complex bending operations, including customized modifications to punches and dies used in conjunction with other tooling, whether standard or customized. • Perform intricate programming utilizing advanced press brake features, such as angle bending, proper back gauge transfer between steps, and timing adjustments. • Following proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, perform maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of the press brake equipment according to manufacturer guidelines and company protocols.
REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate must: • Demonstrate proficiency in setting up and conducting complex bend set-ups and forming operations, including custom punch/die modifications used in combination with various tooling. • Be adaptable to frequent shifts in customer requirements and manufacturing conditions, even in unforeseen circumstances. Ability to work effectively under pressure is essential. • Possess the capability to employ measuring instruments like verniers and gauges for material measurement. Regular adjustments to machinery and measuring instruments to ensure quality outcomes are crucial. • Showcase accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness in task completion. • Follow directives, respond to managerial guidance, and be accountable for actions. • Exemplify positivity and professionalism in behavior and communication, serving as a role model. • Work both collaboratively and autonomously, taking ownership of actions while maintaining a team-oriented approach. • Exhibit self-motivation, setting and attaining challenging objectives, and seeking methods to enhance best practices.
EDUCATION/TRAINING & EXPERIENCE: • Minimum – High school diploma or equivalent. • At least 5 years of related experience - Experience with Cincinnati equipment highly preferred. • Proficiency in computer usage. • Proficiency in blueprint reading at a level 4 - Ability to understand and interpret dimensions, characteristics, and symbols, even within complex assembly drawings. • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating production machinery, with a preference for sheet metal experience and essential mechanical skills. • Effective managerial, operational, and organizational aptitudes. Capable of guiding and motivating others in a constructive manner. Proficient in clear and persuasive verbal and written communication.
