Spring Break Mini-Camp: March 29th -April 1st
Did you know that lemons were once so rare that kings presented them as gifts to one another?
Nowadays, that may not be the case but you can inspire your young entrepreneur to create yummy treats to sell or fundraise at our mini-camp next week themed "The Lemonade Stand". Cost is $45.00 for 1 day or $175 for 4 Days! Chef Club Members Save $5.00 per day. Most appropriate for ages 6-12 years old. Call now to register in advance. 847-715-9474.
Day 1: Monday, March 29th 10:00 AM-1:00 PM
Lemonade Stand Fun-Raising - Marketing, preparation and how to select a cause to support. Recipes include: Fudge Puddles, Old Fashioned Lemonade as well as Strawberry Lemonade and Blueberry Lemonade variations, Pizza Wrap-n-Rolls and Dog Treats.
Day 2: Tuesday, March 30th 10:00 AM-1:00 PM
If you had to cook for 200 people, what would you make? Consider the "Pasta-bilities". We'll learn to scale recipes and make some delicious Italian favorites:
Garlic Breadsticks, Italian Sandwich Cookie, Quick Tiramisu Cups, Beef Marinara Sauce, Chicken Alfredo Sauce and Homemade Pasta!
Day 3: Wednesday, March 31st 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Bake Sale Economics: Preparing, packaging and pricing treats. Recipes include: Sweet Crunch Mix, Barbecue Munch Mix, Homemade Peppermint Patties, Brownies in a Cone, Herb Cheese Mini Muffins and Red Velvet Cake Sandwich Cookies.
Day 4: Thursday, April 1st 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Gifts from the Kitchen: We'll taste and prep three gifts that can be packaged and sold or gifted to someone special. Recipes include: Aunt Leslie's Pancake Mix, Tortilla Soup Mix and Oatmeal Raisin Spiced Cookie Mix. Students will learn to make creative packages and recipe tags.
