Studio 207 Gallery will be exhibiting A PhotoInstallation “MetaManga” by Pavel Nastin, Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg). The Opening is March 31st from 7-10pm. The exhibition will run through April 24, 2006
Pavel Nastin Photographs are composed using pinhole cameras, multiple exposure, the cyanotype, and digital collage. Most of his images are captured using old Soviet cameras, such as Zenit (1970-80s), Moskva-2 (1957) and self-made pinhole. MetaManga is the grown-up heroine of anime and is photographed living in an absurd exotic environment of former Nazi aerodromes and distorted Soviet-style buildings.
There will also be a literary program presented at the opening. Spoken Literary Works (poems and prose) by: Pavel Nastin, Irina Maksimova, Rafael Levchin, Elizabeth Sheynzon, Gary Light, Rudolf Kotlikov. Works presented in English and Russian. Eleanor Nayvelt will be the evening’s translator.
