Recyclables to be collected in Buffalo Grove
Recycle-O-Rama will celebrate Earth Day
BUFFALO GROVE | To celebrate Earth Day, Highway Commissioner Bryant Schroeder and the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County (SWALCO) have organized the 3rd Annual Recycle-O-Rama.
The event will take place on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m., at the Vernon Township/Highway Department Offices, 3050 N Main St, Buffalo Grove.
Residents are invited to recycle the following items: Electronics Gym shoes Florescent Bulbs (up to 4ft) Corks (not plastic) Batteries CD’s, DVD’s, Media Disks Cassettes Hearing Aids Eye Glasses & Accessories Cell Phones Keys Aluminum Tabs Ink Cartridges Crayons Gently Used Books Propane Tanks Batteries Fire Extinguishers Latex Paint (small fee) Prom Dresses Confidential Document Shredding
Non-perishable food items will also be collected for the Vernon Township Food Pantry. Donations begin to wane at this time of year and with the increasing amount of people in need in our community, any donation would be greatly appreciated.
To encourage community involvement, Commissioner Schroeder has elicited help on the day of the event from the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and students from Stevenson and Vernon Hills high schools.
