Sailing Camp
Youth sailing has become a very popular sport. Sailing Camp is taught by U.S. Sailing instructors eager to teach anyone who desires to sail. Each camp day sailors have four to five hours of sailing, including free sail time to practice their skills. On land, the sailors have two hours of land instruction, including sailing terminology and safety. Other activities include games, movies, and crafts. Campers are grouped according to their ability. All campers, regardless of previous experience, are tested the first day and placed in the appropriate level. A list of items needed will be sent prior to camp. Each participant receives a shirt at the first camp they attend. Before camp care is available at an additional cost. Prerequisites: Campers must be able to float with a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) secured to their person and feel comfortable being in lake water. There will be a PFD swimming test on the first day of class. Come prepared to get wet.
