A growing transportation company in Chicago, IL is looking for a motivated and experienced HR/Safety Assistant to join our team full-time.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle recruitment for drivers and office staff
• Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new hires
• Maintain employee records and Driver Qualification Files (DQFs)
• Handle drug & alcohol testing coordination and compliance
• Process unemployment claims and employment verifications
• Support performance management and employee relations
• Ensure compliance with company policies and FMCSA regulations
• Maintain HR documentation, permits, and required records
• Work closely with safety and operations teams on staffing needs

What We’re Looking For:
✔ Strong knowledge of HR practices (transportation industry a plus)
✔ Familiarity with FMCSA regulations is preferred
✔ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
✔ Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience Required:
• Minimum 1 year experience in HR/Safety, recruiting, or transportation-related role
