Nomad Freight is looking for an experienced Reefer Dispatcher to join our team in South Elgin, IL.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and dispatch reefer loads efficiently
• Negotiate rates with brokers
• Monitor temperature-controlled loads
• Communicate daily with drivers
• Track loads from pickup to delivery
• Handle detention, lumper, and layover requests
• Maintain strong broker relationships
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA and company policies
• Update TMS and internal systems
Requirements:
• Previous dispatch experience (reefer required)
• Strong rate negotiation skills
• Knowledge of DAT / Truckstop load boards
• Understanding of temperature-controlled freight
• Ability to manage multiple trucks
• Strong communication skills
• Basic Excel and computer proficiency
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment
