"A downed power line on the Tri-State Tollway has brought traffic in both directions to a standstill just south of Willow Road.

Illinois State Police said a construction crane apparently hit the power line.

Drivers were being urged to avoid the tollway in that area completely. Southbound traffic should exit at Willow Road if possible and northbound traffic should get off at Dempster or Touhy, police said.

Police and fire trucks were on their way to the scene. "
