у меня еще более тяжелый случай - я даже cooking shows не смотрю. Только dvds которые мне нра.

Много есть американцев, которые не смотрят ТВ. Принципиально. Не хотят жизнь проводить у телевизоров.

I guess it would depend on the traditional values being discarded and the new behavior being embraced...

Ded, you like to classify people and put them in one box or the other. One box is for "liberals" and one box for "conservatives." As I said before, I consider myself political atheist. Despite the two popular believes or principles, there are people, such as me, who can see advantages and disadvantages of both principles.
Now I wrote a definition of "liberal" intentionally. The part of the definition that talks about "discarding traditional values" is perhaps a narrative of the "open to new" and I would not take it as an actual policy. Many people, especially those who are involved in politics seem to have their own understanding of this very word. So, you called me a liberal and I want to know what is the foundation for such accusation or is it just a convenient label you came up with?
