Center of Northshore figure arrested on drunk driving

NORTHBROOK — Alexander Field, scheduled to be sentenced later this spring for his part in an alleged fraud in the failed Center of the Northshore project, had some new Northbrook trouble Saturday night, according to police.
Once again, he was taken off to jail, but this time at the hands of local police, not the FBI.
Field, 45, allegedly drove his car off the road on the way to colliding with another car at Dehne Road and Butternut Lane, then continued two blocks to his own home at 2327 Dehne Road, and parked on the lawn. Police allegedly found him there shortly after 8:45pm, smelling strongly of alcohol, with an can of alcoholic beverage inside the car.
Field reportedly refused to allow his blood alcohol level to be tested, but was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, transportation of open alcohol, and driving without proof of insurance. He posted $1,000 bond to gain his freedom.
He’s got a court date of May 25, about a month before he’s expected to plead guilty, according to an agreement with federal prosecutors, to mail fraud.
His co-defendants Edward Renko, Gary Fishkin, Kalliope Shaykin and Tatyana Furman are all scheduled to be sentenced by the end of July. They were allegedly bound together in a scheme to defraud banks by repeatedly lying on loan applications to fund the massive Dundee Road/Skokie Boulevard project and keep it afloat, often repeatedly remortgaging their own houses without mentioning the previous loans. None of it worked: the project collapsed in 2009.
Federal prosecutors and Field’s defense attorney have settled on 168 to 210 months in prison as an “anticipated advisory range” of time for Field to serve, with the recommendation to Judge Harry D. Leinenweber that he sentence Field to about two-thirds of the low end of that range.
That recommendation could give him the longest sentence of the five.
One factor in his plea agreement is that he is the only defendant with a criminal history: a 1993 New York conviction for conspiracy to sell heroin, for which he was then sentenced to 18 months.
Federal documents indicate total losses of more than $27 million by Center of the Northshore lenders in the scheme.
Saturday’s incident caused a much smaller loss. The two cars were damaged, but no one was hurt.
Police reports indicated Field’s car struck “several decorative stones” as it “drove onto the landscape adjacent to the roadway.”

Мда, такой человек пропадает.. Ему бы где-то в Расссии развернуться, пьяным по МКАДу гонять пугая гаишников, а он тут.. Тут же ФБР, реальным пацанам жизни никакой не дает.
