2 men stabbed in late-night brawl

Two men were stabbed, but will likely live, following an apparent fight outside Versailles restaurant and banquet hall, according to police.

Both men were struck with knives in the face, abdomen and back, Cmdr. Steve Husak said.

A woman, her husband, brother and another man, all in their mid-20s, were leaving the establishment, located at 100 McHenry Road, around 1:20 a.m. Saturday when a fight broke out that involved middle-aged men, police said. The victims told police they were jumped outside the door.

Buffalo Grove police have not yet made any arrests in the assault. Officers are still investigating, but details are sketchy, Husak said. They are hoping Versailles security footage will provide some answers to how the fight broke out and who might be involved.

Police are looking for a silver Mercedes SUV that may have fled the scene following the attack.

There is no indication that the fight was gang-related, Husak said.

Police are not releasing the names of the victims at this point in the investigation.
