The Columbus Day Parade celebrates the historic voyage of Christopher Columbus to America and Italian-American culture on State Street from Wacker to Van Buren.

The Columbus Day Parade is sponsored by the Jont Civic Committee of Italian Americans. This year, Monday, October 12th will mark its 63rd anniversary.

Our 2015 Columbus Day Chairman Sal Perricone will lead the line of march, with JCCIA President Frank Cerrone, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and many other dignitaries from city, state and the Italian community. The Columbus Day Parade has over 150 units - bands, floats and marchers. All ethnicities are invited to join our parade.

The festivities begin with a 9am mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, 1224 W. Lexington Street. A wreath laying ceremony in Arrigo Park at the Columbus statue, together with the Grand Lodge, State of Illinois, Order Sons of Italy in America, followed by the parade at 12:30pm on State Street.
