The bankruptcy court provides protection to debtors who owe more than they can repay. The courts allow elimination and discharge of most debtor's debts. The court will not discharge some debts. Debtors who owe child support, alimony, student loans, fines imposed by courts and many types of taxes may not discharge the debts through a bankruptcy. Fortunately, the most common tax problem may be discharged through bankruptcy, if the debtor meets certain conditions. |
